Job Description:
With training, the graduate student event coordinator will:
● Develop and organize a workshop series for PhD and Postdoctoral Scholars to explore careers beyond the academy.
● Plan a symposium in collaboration with UC partners to explore diverse career option to be held following the workshop series.
● Implement, design and analyze survey evaluations and provide input to make data-informed decisions for future career services.
● Provide support for virtual and in-person career fairs, employer information sessions, and other center-wide events as needed.
● Collaborate with other units on campus as needed.
With additional training, the graduate student assistant may have the opportunity to:
● Lead workshops on core career development topics for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars (e.g., Resumes, Cover letters, Job Search skills, Interview skills).
● Develop new career workshop or panels for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars.
● Research career trends impacting advanced degree scholars.
● Independently give written feedback on resumes, CVs, and cover letters submitted through Google Docs during scheduled shifts as part of the ICC’s Document Review service.
