The Yolo County Innovation and Technology Services Department is recruiting for College interns to assist with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) projects. Intern responsibilities may include creating, updating, and/or editing spatial data, maps, field data, and web applications using various programs and such as, but not limited to, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, and Quick Capture. Interns may also assist with creating bike path layers; a comprehensive layer of conservation easements, Hub pages of projects by department, and/or creating dashboards with live feed to mobile field collection projects.
TIME COMMITMENT / SCHEDULE
A minimum of five (5) hours per week over one (1) semester or quarter, although the internship can be extended to twelve (12) months. Hours must be during business hours (Monday through Friday 8AM to 5PM). Summer internships are available. This internship may be scheduled for a combination of remote and in-person work. In-person work will be performed in Woodland, CA.
IMPORTANT NOTES
This is an unpaid internship opportunity. The County will work with interns seeking to earn academic credits from their educational institution. Interns are responsible for establishing and coordinating their educational institution's requirements for earning academic credits and communicating this information to the County.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum qualifications required for a candidate to proceed in the selection process are as follow:
Educational Requirement: Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or trade school majoring in or having completed coursework in Geographic Information Systems or closely related field. Enrollment record (official/unofficial copy of course listing/schedule) must be attached to your application.
Special Requirement: Interns must be enrolled in at least nine (9) college quarter units or six (6) semester units throughout the duration of the internship in order to remain eligible for this internship.
