Job Description
 

Under the direction of the Director of Campus Planning and Environmental Stewardship and in coordination with multiple other campus units, the GIS Programmer is responsible for design, analysis, development and implementation of geographic information system (GIS), Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and other remote sensing solutions. The GIS Programmer is also responsible for development, deployment and maintenance of multiple geospatial databases, as well as mobile and web-based GIS applications. The GIS Programmer works with business users to create datasets and perform complex multi-variate analyses to help users make informed decisions with regards to the physical and spatial aspects of campus, as well as stewardship of resources and the management of infrastructure.

The GIS Programmer is a technical leader with a high degree of knowledge in the overall field and recognized expertise in specific areas; able to problem solve, frequently analyze unique issues, problems without precedent and/or structure. The GIS Programmer may manage programs that include formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources and functions with a high degree of autonomy.
