Job Description

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE), is hiring one (1) Senior Environmental Scientist (Specialist) - Forest Monitoring Specialist. This individual will be responsible for coordinating the California Forest Inventory Analysis (FIA) Intensification Project contracts and collection agreements, assisting with analysis/reporting on forest conditions using FIA and other inventory data, and providing resource inventory and environmental assessment functions. In carrying out the duties of the Forest Monitoring Specialist, the employee is expected to have training and experience as well as maintain currency in the disciplines related to forest mensuration, silviculture, forest inventory measurements, remote sensing, and statistical analyses.

Work Location: Sacramento County, CA

Salary: $7,820.00 - $10,732.00 per Month
