Job Description
Responsibilities
- Act as the link between Kodama’s engineering team and its forest management project partners
- Communicate regularly with forest restoration project partners and contractors on private and public lands
- Manage daily site logistics
- Data collection from machinery and communication of test results
- Testing of automated forestry equipment
- Tracking daily production metrics
- Monitoring project activity level (PAL) and restriction
- Daily checks and general maintenance of Kodama equipment
- Project setup and breakdown
- Directing an on-site field technician and coordinating visits from other Kodama team members
- Drive rental trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment machinery on worksites as needed
- Perform in-forest activities such as hiking, scouting, surveying, and spotting in uneven terrain
- Follow company safety protocols during testing and project implementation
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures with other members of the Operations Team
Basic Qualifications
- Conversational Spanish
- General electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office, Slack, Notion, Asana)
Bonus Point Qualifications
- Fluency in Spanish
- Background in forest operations or other natural resource industry
- Previous management experience
- Wildland firefighting experience (Red Card)
- First Aid / CPR / first responder certifications
- Graduate degree in related studies
