Environmental Scientist in the Drinking Water Environmental Review Unit

The State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Financial Assistance has an opening for an Environmental Scientist in the Drinking Water Environmental Review Unit. The individual coming into this position will review California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) documents for Clean Water and Drinking Water funding projects, ensure funding projects meet the CEQA, National Environmental Policy Act and other federal cross-cutting requirements. Coordinate with federal, state, and local governmental agencies to determine the need for additional studies and/or mitigation measures to ensure compliance with CEQA and/or associated federal environmental laws and initiate consultation if necessary.  Come join our passionate team to continue work on preserving, enhancing, and restoring the quality of California’s water resources. All levels of experience will be considered. The position is currently hybrid, with one day per month in office located at 1001 I Street, Sacramento, CA.
