Job Description

The State Water Resources Control Board’s Office of Research, Planning, and Performance has an opening for an Environmental Scientist in the External Scientific Peer Review Program. Join a team doing exciting work to support the California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA) with the resources and services necessary to meet a statutory requirement during the rulemaking process. (All California Environmental Protection Agency boards, departments, and office (BDOs) are required by state law to obtain an external scientific peer review when proposing a rule that contains a scientific element or is based in science.)

This is a hybrid position. It is eligible for 3 days of telework per week, on average. The position is located at 1001 I Street, 13th Floor, Sacramento, right in the heart of downtown next to light rail stations and other public transportation.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
