Job Description

This position offers a unique and challenging opportunity to function at the interface of environmental policy, science, engineering, and regulation through participation on multidisciplinary teams of State Water Board staff responsible for implementation and development of the Water Quality Control Plan for the San Francisco Bay/Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Estuary (Bay-Delta Plan). The focus of this position and the Bay-Delta and Special Projects Unit will be updating and implementing the Bay Delta Plan including administration of the State Water Board’s water right permitting and petition programs for major water diversion and use projects in the Bay-Delta watershed, such as the State Water Project and Central Valley Water Project.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
