DWR has the perfect opportunity for an archaeologist looking to work with a team of scientists on a variety of projects throughout California. Under the direction of the Cultural and Historic Resources Unit Manager, the incumbent is responsible for cultural resources support services for the continued operation and maintenance of the State Water Project (SWP), including planning and conducting archaeological field surveys and assisting with natural resources surveys. Duties also include working closely with Tribes, federal partners and other State agencies; and preparation of documentation for environmental compliance, especially Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.
This position is based in West Sacramento in a hybrid work environment (office and telework) with free parking and a flexible schedule.
