Under close supervision the incumbent will assist project leaders within the Environmental Services Branch with construction monitoring, California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) compliance, regulatory permit compliance, habitat assessments/special status species surveys, data collection and input, data point collection using GPS software, map interpretation and basics of GIS, and other administrative capabilities in response to on-going operations, maintenance and construction of the State Water Project (SWP), its associated facilities, and other locations within the Sacramento/San Joaquin Delta and Suisun Marsh.

Special Requirements
Must be able to meet the demands of field work in terrestrial and aquatic habitats, including swim at least 50 yards and stay afloat at least 10 minutes; must be able to move and transport equipment or objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to function without incapacitation due to sea-sickness. The incumbent must have the ability to conduct field work for long hours under a variety of climatic conditions and in rugged terrain. Weekend, night, irregular, holiday, and extended work hours may be required during construction monitoring and high-priority project data collection. Incumbent must possess a valid California driver's license due to travel to various field sites to conduct field sampling.
