Based out of San Joaquin County’s Environmental Health Division, this position offers a supportive and collaborative workplace that values mentorship, hands-on learning, and continuous professional development.
As an Environmental Health Specialist Trainee, you can expect to:
- Receive direct, one-on-one training from a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS)
- Learn to conduct field inspections and investigations across various program areas, including:
- Food safety and restaurants
- Recreational health (pools, spas)
- Hazardous materials and underground storage tanks
- Land use, solid waste, liquid waste, and more
- Assist in enforcing environmental health laws and regulations
- Gain the experience and credentials needed to become a Registered Environmental Health Specialist
