Arcadis seeks an Environmental Permitting Specialist to conduct routine inspections of on-going construction projects. Candidates for this position must have an interest in general environmental compliance and be capable of spending long hours in the field. This position will be based full-time in Selma, California.

Must be able to work onsite in Selma, CA.

Role description:

Arcadis provides Project and Construction Management Services to oversee the Design-Build for Construction of the California High-Speed Rail System (System) in California’s Central Valley. In the Contract Specialist role, you will manage one or more trade contracts, manage deliverables against contract schedule.

Role accountabilities:

  • Conduct environmental compliance field inspections of construction sites.
  • Conduct environmental compliance documentation audits.
  • Coordinate with the contractor to document corrective measures.
  • Enter new observations data into the project’s database.
  • Review history data entry to evaluate quality.
  • Assist with file management and document storage.
  • Data tabulation.
  • Permit and contract document review.
  • Work independently on a consistent basis upon receiving training.
     

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of field environmental experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, or a related field such as biology, ecology, natural resources management, sustainability, etc.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and data collection applications.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with construction means and methods.
  • Familiarity with federal, California, and local environmental permits.
  • Familiarity with California Environmental Quality Act/ National Environmental Policy Act (CEQA/NEPA), Federal Endangered Species Act (ESA), California Endangered Species Act (CA ESA), Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MTBA), Master Streambed Alteration Agreement (MSAA), Clean Water Act Section 401 Certification, Clean Water Act Section 404 Permit, Construction General Permit (CGP), Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), and hazardous materials regulations.
  • Familiarity with sustainability goals, such as reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, water conservation, and recycling and waste management.
     

Arcadis offers benefits for full-time positions. We offer seven paid holidays and potentially up to two floating holidays per calendar year depending on the start, and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $61000 - $122000.
