Job Description

Our Energy Research & Development Division (ERDD) deploys over $300 million annually to advance new scientific approaches and technology innovations to meet the state’s clean energy and climate change policies including but not limited to the areas of renewable energy supply, building and industrial decarbonization, sustainable transportation, energy storage, energy distribution, resilience and reliability, and carbon management.

 

Our Fuels and Transportation Division (FTD) administers the California Energy Commission’s Clean Transportation Program (CTP). The Clean Transportation Program is California’s lead program in deploying zero-emission vehicle infrastructure to support electric vehicles and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. The CTP budget has increased in recent years. The program will deploy approximately $4 billion to invest in a broad portfolio of transportation projects and provide financial support for infrastructure projects.

 

Our Efficiency Division (ED), Building Standards Development Unit in the Building Standards Branch has one position available. The Building Standards Branch has primary responsibility for developing and maintaining the state’s nation leading Energy Code, its companion energy compliance software, and associated outreach and education programs.

Energy Analyst position in the Reliability and Emergency Unit of the Reliability Analysis Branch within the Energy Assessments Division (EAD). The Energy Assessments Division assesses California’s electricity, natural gas, petroleum, and transportation systems and trends to provide information to the state’s decision makers and the public. These assessments inform the development, and implementation, of energy policies that balance the need for adequate resources with economic, public health, safety, and environmental goals.
