The Demand Flexibility Analytics Intern will join SVCE’s small but mighty Demand Flexibility team to conduct research and deliver analytical insights that support flexibility initiatives. Working closely with experts across SVCE’s Customer Success and Risk, Analytics, and Data teams, the intern will analyze the value of Virtual Power Plants (VPPs) and other demand flexibility solutions for the grid, SVCE, and customers.
This role will focus on developing user-friendly dashboards, conducting quantitative analyses, and researching emerging technologies related to demand flexibility. Projects may include evaluating a wide range of costs and benefits of flexible load resources, documenting industry developments, and identifying potential program opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Build 1–2 Microsoft Power BI dashboards that calculate and visualize the monetary value of demand flexibility resources to SVCE across different end-use loads and customer capabilities. Leverage SVCE’s cloud-based data warehouse using SQL, Python, and Git to analyze and interpret large datasets.
- Research load flexibility solutions across customer classes, rates, building sizes, and end-use applications.
- Develop and maintain a research catalog of emerging technologies and industry trends to share with internal stakeholders.
