Under the general direction of the Community Education Manager for CalFresh Healthy Living, UC (CFHL, UC), this position provides programmatic leadership and support for statewide community engagement efforts. The role involves guiding community engagement strategies for program planning, implementation and evaluation while ensuring alignment with USDA SNAP-Ed and UC Davis policies and guidelines.
A central responsibility of the position is to build the capacity of CFHL, UCCE staff through training, technical assistance, resource and material development, and program evaluation. In collaboration with national, state, and local partners, the role advances strategies that promote public health practices and foster policy, systems, and environmental changes to support healthy eating and active living.
The position supports community engagement activities across 36 CFHL, UCCE county programs throughout California. It involves providing oversight to subcontractors engaged in community engagement initiatives to ensure they align with program goals and objectives. Additionally, the role serves as a “county lead” for multiple counties, offering programmatic leadership and support tailored to local needs.
