The Climate Investments Assessments Section provides technical and policy support for these actions specific to investments in natural resources, waste diversion, and climate adaptation and resiliency.
Under supervision of the Climate Investments Assessment Section manager, the Air Pollution Specialist (APS) will apply analytical methods to help identify, study, and address climate impacts of actions that affect natural and working lands. Among the job duties, the APS will conduct technical analysis to quantify or evaluate greenhouse emissions reductions and environmental, economic, and public health co-benefits from California Climate Investments. In addition, the APS serves as a liaison to and supports State agencies in implementing programs that promote greenhouse gas emission reductions and carbon sequestration through a variety of unique project types. The APS also provides recommendations and conclusions on existing or emerging policies, research, plans, programs, and project types in the natural and working lands sector targeted at reducing climate pollutants, sequestering carbon, and supporting resilient communities. In conducting this work, the APS will support CIB’s efforts to incorporate tribal collaboration into California Climate Investments program design and implementation to both integrate tribal environmental knowledge and improve tribal participation in climate programs.
In this role, the successful candidate will present program information and recommendations in a clear and concise manner to CARB management and executives, other State agencies, businesses, communities, and advocates for environmental, resiliency, and natural resources interests.
