The Environmental Scientist provides support for the development and tracking of climate mitigation and adaptation activities; reviews, analyzes, and archives collected data, and contributes to policy development for water resources planning, climate adaptation, and GHG emissions reductions for the water sector.
Under close supervision of the State Water Project (SWP) Climate Action Manager and in coordination with the Climate Change Program Manager, Climate Change Program Lead Mitigation Specialist, and SWP Power Operations and Management (POM) Office, the incumbent supports the development and implementation of water management policies that support greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) reduction and climate adaptation. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Incumbent provides support for the development and tracking of climate mitigation and adaptation activities; reviews, analyzes, and archives collected data, and contributes to policy development for water resources planning and GHG emissions reductions. Incumbent must communicate clearly and work with multi-disciplinary groups; conduct scientific investigations and studies pertaining to water; maintain regular, consistent, and predictable attendance; and exercise sound judgment.
