City Planning Internship

he City’s Planning Internship Program offers a paid internship with flexible hours in the Department’s Planning Division. The position provides handson experience in many aspects of the field including current and long-range planning as well as environmental review. Tasks include working with the City’s Planning team on architectural design reviews, plan/permit reviews, customer assistance, General Plan and zoning code implementation, research on planning and housing issues, and other special projects. Internship Requirements: • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) • Strong writing, listening, and speaking skills • Good people skills • Completed at least one year of undergraduate studies Hours are flexible and interns can work up to 30 hours per week and up to 1,000 hours per year. Pay ranges from $20 to $25 per hour based on education level and prior experience. Internship is on-site at City Hall.
