Job Description

At the end of this year, our fabulous Board President, Susan Herre, will be stepping down from her position. We are seeking someone who is passionate about community-based environmental policy to join a seasoned ECOS member and serve as co-presidents for 2025.
Responsibilities may include:
- Oversight of financial matters that are managed by the treasurer (e.g., payroll, office rent).
- Organization and support of annual events, such as the Environmentalist of the Year Awards and Sacramento Earth Day.
- Chairing Board meetings
- Communication with committee chairs on committee goals and progress
- Oversight of the ECOS events Calendar
- Identification of relevant projects on state, regional, and local scales. We acknowledge that becoming the co-president for an organization is no small commitment. However, we emphasize that this is a supported position, as the other co-president, the staff members, and the committee chairs will readily work with the co-president to become familiar with ECOS. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate and experienced in environmental policy to make a difference in their community, and to do so with the support of incredibly skilled, self-driven local advocates.Anyone who is interested in the position should reach out to Luz Lim ([email protected]) and Dawn Whitney ([email protected]), or attend a Board meeting (the next one will be August 7, 6:00-7:30 pm; https://www.ecosacramento.net/what-we-do/meeting-schedule/).
