Launched by the U.S. Department of State and led by WBCSD, the Forest Investor Club (FIC) and the Forest Finance Risk Consortium are two networks working to scale up investments in forests and nature-based solutions and to eliminate financed deforestation. FIC is a network of public and private sector financial institutions, companies and other investors committed to accelerating the deployment of capital into the protection, restoration and sustainable management of forests and nature. It catalyzes investments that reduce emissions and enhance carbon sequestration by supporting members through additional access to investment pipelines, facilitating complementary partnerships to de-risk and increase access to capital and developing solutions to overcome investment barriers. FFRC is a consortium of financial institutions and technical experts in land-use-change monitoring and climate and nature-related financial disclosure.
WBCSD is seeking an Associate to support the implementation of FIC and FFRC strategy and management and execution of FIC and FFRC. Working closely with the Senior Manager, Forest Investor Cub, and Senior Manager, Forest Finance Risk Consortium, the Associate will support the Secretariat team in implementing the FIC and FFRC strategy and theory of change. For FIC, this includes cultivating a pipeline of potential investments in forests and nature, facilitating partnerships to unlock investment opportunities, developing solutions to investment barriers, and showcasing and amplifying innovative investment approaches from FIC and others. For FFRC, this includes developing specific tools and resources to help financial institutions assess and disclose their exposure to deforestation risks and build deforestation-free portfolios. Outreach and effective communication to external audiences on the work and results of FIC and FFRC will be an important part of this position.
This is a full-time role based in either New York, Amsterdam, or London. It is a 21-month fixed-term position.
