EPM Faculty Dr. Alessandro Ossola awarded the Graduate Program Advising and Mentoring Award from the Office of Graduate Studies

EPM Faculty Dr. Alessandro Ossola was awarded a Graduate Program Advising and Mentoring Award from the Office of Graduate Studies recognizing his outstanding service in advising and mentoring. The Environmental Policy and Management program recognizes the investment in time that Faculty Advisors make, often in addition to many other duties such as teaching and research. Advisors are crucial to the graduate student experience and are responsible to guide students through their degree, help them identify professional development opportunities and most importantly ensure students overall success and well-being. 

Some of Dr. Ossola's advisees gave comments in support of his nomination, stating "his mentorship has been thoughtful, engaged, forward looking and supportive. He has been able to guide me through career and academic decision-making, provide in depth insight to my field of study and introduce me to many professional and networking opportunities. He goes above and beyond for his students as well as assisting students not in his lab, donating his time and expertise without obligation. [He] genuinely cares about the betterment of our education and careers."

Dr. Ossola commented "this award reinvigorates my drive to help grow the next generation of environmental leaders. Mentoring our excellent students at UCD is a great privilege of my career".
